The mushroom and compost production of the Veres company in Kaniv, Cherkasy region, ceased production in July 2023.<\/p>\n
Production processes have been stopped, the equipment has been preserved, the company reported. The further fate of the farm and compost production is unknown.<\/p>\n
The company recently tried to find a tenant and keep production, but it was not successful.<\/p>\n
The Veres mushroom farm consists of 36 mushroom growing rooms with 700 m2 of growing area in each, which makes the farm the largest in Ukraine. In the best times, the company\u2019s production reached 450 tons of mushrooms per month. The company\u2019s compost production produced up to 3,500 tons of Phase 2 compost per month. The plant has been operating since 2004.<\/p>\n
The reason for closing the farm was the losses that the farm received recently. More than 200 people worked in the company, who are now looking for a new job.<\/p>\n
The lion\u2019s share of the champignon harvest was collected for the needs of our own cannery \u2013 marinated Veres mushrooms are known to most residents of Ukraine. Most likely, the company will also have to stop the production of pickled mushrooms.<\/p>\n
